For those of you who have never been to West Virginia, let me explain something to you. The roads here are far smaller than the typical roads in Texas. I remember the first time I went back to the street I grew up on, and that cul-de-sac seemed SO WIDE! I mean you can park cars on BOTH sides of the street and still comfortably drive on the road? Not so much in Morgantown. Our neighborhood is notorious for lacking parking space for visitors. This is where common sense should come in, but unfortunately for many people, this seems to be missing. We live on a corner, where the narrow road turns left. Shortly after we moved in, we put a landscaping rock on the corner of our yard, hoping that it would stop people from cutting the corner through our grass (and getting too close to Clay's car!) Anyway, we often have people who make very unwise decisions about where to park their cars. Tonight, we get home and there is a car parked directly behind our driveway/the rock and on the corner. (I wish I could take a picture, because I know my description is not doing this justice.) I honestly don't think I could have made the turn into our driveway without hitting the rock or the car in my 4 Runner...thankfully we dropped it off for an oil change and I didn't have to make that attempt! So, I was so annoyed when I got home, that I put a short little note suggesting putting a little more thought into future parking decisions on the windshield of the car. I am contemplating going to take the note off the car (even though it was not rude!!)

Thanks for letting me vent. (c:

PS I am a wimp...I took the note off!

my new best friend...

Ok, so "best friend" may be a little over-exaggerated, but I do love my Roomba. I was afraid that Aggie would hate the thing, but she could honestly care less about it. We have the "pet series", which seems to do a pretty good job with Aggie's shedding. I don't think there is anything that could actually keep up with her, which is why I am considering shaving her. (Just kidding!!) Anyway, I love it that I can come home from work, hit a button on my Roomba and it is off doing a chore I don't really care for! As I Googled "Roomba" looking for a picture to go along with my post, I discovered they make little costumes for them, too! Wow...

Alright, I have to go watch The First 48 now...

say it ain't SNOW...

Yeah, a little bit of a dorky title, but I cannot believe they are calling for snow showers this week! YUCK! It is still October, for goodness sake! I know that I shouldn't complain, but this Texas girl doesn't do well with the winter weather. (By the way, I just checked the weather in Greenville, and it was more bearable!) Oh, and while I am complaining, I thought I'd mention the days are getting noticeable shorter, which makes me sad!

I wish I had something exciting to blog about, but right now, I really don't! I won't bore you will all my hunting stories, which is what we have spent a lot of time doing lately. We have been enjoying the evening hunts lately, which I am liking better than waking up super early. Oh, I did finally watch Sex and the City (the movie) last night! Hubby was a good sport and pretended to watch it with me. I thought it was cute.

Since I have probably put my few readers to sleep, I'll sign off for now. Have a good week!

new look!

In honor of fall, I have re-designed the blog a little bit. I hope you like it. I had fun creating the new look.

Things have been busy around here. Last week, I went back to Greenville (we had just been there two weeks before!) for a job interview. It went well, I think. We'll just have to see, I guess. It was a whirlwind of a trip though, and made for a couple of long days. The Saturday, we were up bright and early for opening day of bow season. Unfortunately, we didn't have any luck. It was quite chilly, though, and I think I am going to have to face it that the cold weather is most likely going to be occurring more these days!

I am also taking a photography class with my friend, Kelly. It is just a short 4 week course, but we have had fun trying to learn a few things about our cameras.

Well, I cannot believe we are so close to Halloween already! I was a little shocked the other night when I was driving home from the airport, and there was a radio station playing CHRISTMAS CAROLS!! Are you kidding me?? I love Christmas just as much as the next person, but that is a bit much! Enough complaining, though...time for bed! Night night!

Birthday Week!

We had a fun filled week this week in the Caswell household. With Clay's birthday on Thursday and mine today, it was a good week. We'd like to say THANKS to all of you who sent cards, emails, text messages, etc. Thanks so much for thinking of us!

Today we hung out at Max and Janie's all day. It was such a BEAUTIFUL day that we could not say "no" when they asked us to stay and cook out for dinner. It was great...we headed to another part of their property where they have been working to fix up a cabin that Max built over there several years ago. Clay drove the 4 wheeler and Janie and I rode in a trailer pulled behind the tractor. live in the country!! We hiked around a bit and get to see some great fall colors. Later they spoiled us with too much yummy food. After dinner, we did a little deer watching before heading back to Morgantown.

Here are some pictures from our day. I tried to capture some of the great fall leaves for those of you who don't get to see them!

Busy, busy...

This will be a quick post because I am exhausted tonight. But, it had been too long since I last posted, so I wanted to write a little bit, even if it wasn't much! We have had a busy few weeks...we went to Greenville this weekend, but I'll do a whole post on that later! (c: I will say we did get a lot accomplished and even managed a beach trip one afternoon! This week we'll be celebrating both of our birthdays. Is turning 27 moving from "mid-twenties" to "late-twenties", or do I have one more year?

I'll leave you with a picture of me as we crossed the state line into North Carolina this weekend! (It is a self portrait of myself as Clay drove like he did the entire time both ways...what a good hubby!!)
