Back to reality...

I have to admit, I was pretty spoiled last week.  I worked Monday then we headed to Greenville for a couple of days.  So, I basically had a 6 day weekend!  I can't believe it is already winding down and it is back to work tomorrow.  Now, I love my job, but...I'd rather be just hanging out!  (c:

We did end the weekend with a bang, though, and had pizza with the Coxi Family.  (That is our nickname for them...)  The kiddos were super cute as usual, and we had fun just spending time with all of them (Brody and Fletcher included!) We are gonna miss them!

Ok - I am exhausted, so Night Night!

so much...

...to blog about! First of all, a big THANK YOU to my friend Allison who gave me a "Your Blog is Fabulous" award, which is my first blog award ever!
For this award, I get to name 5 things I find Fabulous and pass the award to 5 of my fabulous blogger friends. So, for my Fabulous list (in no particular order):

Our New House
Clay and I are moving soon, and I absolutely love our new home. Just a few things that I love about it are the huge master bathroom and closet, the backyard, the front porch (I just need some rocking chairs!) and all the storage! Less than two weeks until moving day.

My Friends From Work
I have been lucky to have a great family at work in Mo-town. I could not ask for a better group to spend 8+ hours with each day. Saying bye is going to be hard, but I know I will be keeping in touch!

Photography
I am not the best at it, but I love taking pictures and I also love looking at other people's pictures!  This picture was taken by Daren in Belize (which is one of my favorite places!)  He is a really talented photographer!

The Sky
I love the sky. I love sunrises and sunsets. I love when you can see the rays shining through the clouds. God has given us a beautiful creation to enjoy!!  (This was taken Thursday night on our way to Thanksgiving dinner at Max and Janie's!)

My Family
Moving to WV was a huge change for me because I had always been close to my family. The distance has not changed this, though. Good thing for cell phones! I cherish the time I do get to spend with them!!  Of course, there are the two that I get to see every day...my hubby and our brown dog!!
(We missed Ben in this picture!!)

Now, about the Fabulous Blogs I like to read. Some of these people probably don't even know I read their blogs, but I'll let them know that I enjoy following their lives online.

Kelly is one of my best friends from back home. We played soccer together and we were in each other's weddings. Kelly has a precious baby boy, Garrett, who I hope to get to meet SOON!!! Until then, I will have to keep checking for pictures online.

Mindy was my twin in Chi O. I cannot tell you how many times I was called Mindy on campus or other random places. She is super cute and super creative, and her blog makes me smile.

Betsy and I went to high school together and were in Chi O together. She married her highschool sweetheart and has chronicled their journey to adoption!

Lauren was also a Chi O with me. I am not sure how I found her blog (facebook maybe??), but she has recently moved to London and I love reading about her adventures. Not going to lie...I am a little jealous of her recent trip to Africa!

Courtney was yet another Chi O. I think I found her blog through Lauren's, and I just think her little man, Jack, is absolutely adorable. They are such a cute little family!

I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving - I know we did!  (Oh, and I got my stitches out on Monday...YIPEE!!)

Remembering...

I cannot believe it has been 9 years since Bonfire fell.  I was a senior in high school, and I remember being glued to the tv watching coverage.  I was scheduled to go on my college day visit the next day, even though I already knew I was A&M bound.  I cannot describe the atmosphere on campus that day.  If before I had any doubts about going to school there, they would have been gone after witnessing what I did on campus that day.  It was such a somber atmosphere, but the Aggie Spirit was so strong.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones in the Bonfire Tragedy.

On a better note, I got test results back from the dr. today and my blood work, chest xray and margins (the skin around the melanoma that they removed..) all came back clean.  YEAH!!!!  I still have one more follow up appointment, so hopefully that goes well, too.

All stitched up! (Warning: Stitches pics below!!)

So, it has been a big week for me. After the news on Monday, I scheduled a follow up appointment for Wednesday, where they went in and took skin around the "bad" area just to make sure all the bad cells are gone. I went in Wednesday afternoon, and the Doc explained that with a Melanoma my depth, they take a centimeter around the area. Off the went, numbing me up, and it was over before I knew it. (I distracted myself talking to the nurse...she was really cool and I think we should be friends! Haha!) Anyway, I am not sure how many internal stitches I have, but there are 6 external. There are a couple of pictures below of the masterpiece on Friday...I won't put the Thursday pictures up because they are a little yuckier!

This weekend will be spent packing (fun), cleaning (more fun) and staying inside because it is cold and rainy (most fun), but it will hopefully be productive! Hope you have a good weekend, too!

always wear your sunscreen!

I have been going to the Dermatologist regularly to get my moles checked.  Last month, during my check up, they removed a suspicious looking one.  I got a little nervous when it was sent out for a second opinion.  Well, on Monday, I knew something was not quite right when the Doctor called me back rather than the nurse.  Turns out, the doctor at Harvard who reviewed my case determined it was melanoma.  It was only .3 mm in thickness, which is considered very superficial.  He said it was good that it was caught so early.  Anyway, I get to go back tomorrow so they can cut out the area surrounding the mole that was removed just to be safe.  Oh, and after all that fun news on Monday, I got to go to the dentist to have a cavity filled.  What a day!  Needless to say, I was exhausted that night.  I curled up on the couch, and Miss Aggie could sense something was night right, so she came to cuddle with me.  What a good little girl! Anyway, you can guess the reason for the title of this blog...oh, and go to the dermatologist! Ok - I have done my preaching. (c:

Speaking of Aggie, she has been a little confused about what is going on around here.  She is curious about all the boxes, and the house is starting to look a little bare.  The other night she was hanging out on the couch with her Daddy because I was wrapping pictures in bubble wrap, and she didn't care for that!!

trail camera

We have not been too impressed by the Remington trail camera we bought at Wal Mart a while ago.  Yes, we have had a handful of good pictures, but there are time where I know there should be some pictures taken (like the time I watched 4 deer eat in front of the camera for 45 minutes...) with NOTHING!!  Anyway, I was testing the camera last week while we were filling the feeder, and it actually did take a picture (imagine that!)   The picture honestly entertained me a bit...maybe you will get a chuckle out of it, too:

Tag - I'm it!

My lovely friend, Kelly, tagged me to post my 4th picture in my 4th folder...So, here it is. It is a picture of my hubby playing his guitar when we were in Belize last year! Ahh...good memories. Now, who do I tag? I don't really know what other bloggers actually read this, so I will be lame and not pass the tag along.

I hope you had a good weekend...I have an annoying cough I am trying to get rid of.  Hopefully we all sleep better tonight!

Sonic

My friend, Kelly, told me yesterday that there was something in the paper about a Sonic being built in Morgantown. I am a big fan of Sonic. It was conveniently about 2 minutes from where I lived through most of college, and I took advantage of "Happy Hour" with half price drinks. I am happy that Morgantown will be graced with a Sonic, but it makes me wonder why I have been tortured with commercials for Sonic for the 4 years that I have lived here and they build one as we are moving. Maybe I will consider it my going away present to this lovely town.

Happy November!
