The Weekend

We went down to Myrtle Beach area this weekend to see some of our friends from Morgantown. We got there Friday evening and spent Friday and Saturday night with them. Unfortunately, it is not quite beach weather yet, but we did go down to the beach and check it out. I can't wait to go back when it is warmer! We also discovered an amazing little shop: Conway Meats. We had talked about smoking some ribs and found some great beef ribs at this place. I looked for briskets as well, and although they didn't have any at the time, she told me when they have trucks come in and when they order for each truck and said we could request one any time we wanted. We also bought some of their homemade BBQ sauce for our ribs. So, yesterday afternoon was spent smoking and eating ribs!

Well, here are some belly pics we took this weekend. They turned out better than the ones we took on Friday, so these are about 20.5 weeks.

Here are some before and after pics of our ribs!

I apologize for lying...I said I would post a new belly pic and haven't done it yet. My bad. We are in South Carolina for the weekend visiting some friends, so I will do it tomorrow when I am back to my computer. In the meantime, we are smoking some AMAZING looking ribs. I can't wait!!

Well, today marks the big 20 weeks...also known as the halfway point!! Our little one is about 6 1/2 inches from head to bottom, and 10 inches from head to heel.

(For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.) I'll take a new belly picture tomorrow...not really feeling like it tonight! (c:

Although the weather isn't looking so good for it, we are heading to the beach this weekend. It will be nice to get away for the weekend and to get to see some great friends at the same time! Yeah for tomorrow being Thursday! Have a great rest of the week!

Thank you, BRU!

YEAH!!!! Babies R Us fixed our little fiasco without even having to call. (They must have read my blog!) Now, I just need to go back and add the things that we missed while we were there, and decide on the items that we are still trying to figure out like infant car seat, stroller (jogger) and the nursery decorations! Oh, and a name would be a good thing to decide on, but that has nothing to do with BRU! (c:

Have a great week!!!

So, Hubby and I went to Babies R Us yesterday to register. I had already set up a registry online and told the lady when we checked in, but she just set up a new one. So, when you went to their website, there were two: one empty and one full. When I realized this, I called them to have them delete the one with nothing in it so that there wouldn't be any confusion. I checked this morning, and it looks like they deleted the wrong one!!!!!! So, all that work we did yesterday was for NOTHING!!! I am hoping I can call tomorrow and have them fix it, but we'll see!

Ok - going to shower and get ready for church! Maybe that will make me feel better! (c:

Flat Stanley!

Have you heard of Flat Stanley? My nephew's class is doing this project where they send their friend Stanley to relatives to visit. (It is based on a book, I guess...) Anyway, so Stanley has been visiting us, and we are supposed to dress him up and take pictures of the things he does. Well, I have to admit that I am a bit of a slacker and have been waiting to the last minute to do anything! (c: Anyway, I dressed him up like a beach bum. (I was going to do ECU gear, but I didn't think the kids would really get that or care.) I don't think you can really tell what is outfit is supposed to be, so I may have to add to it a bit. Anyway, tonight we went bowling, so Stanley joined us. Here are some of the pictures I took.

Tomorrow Stanley will join us at the Farmer's market, so hopefully I can get a pic or two there. I would love to have one of him at the beach since that is how he is dressed, but I probably won't make it to the beach this weekend. (Would Photoshop be cheating?!?)

Last, here is my 19 week (plus a couple of days) belly shot. It was after a big dinner, too! (c: Oh, and as we were leaving dinner, we saw a car in the parking lot with Texas plates, Aggie stickers and an Aggie License Plate holder! I wish we could have known who it was!

Well, Happy First Day of Spring!! (c:

19 weeks and random thoughts...

Last night Hubby and I watched the Biggest Loser episode that I missed while I was in NYC. I have to say that I am a little bit disappointed that Aubrey never fessed up to eating cookie(s) in the challenge/temptation! They made it look like only Helen was the only person who ate a cookie! Not that big of a deal, but it annoyed me.

The rest of my trip went well. It was busy, but I had fun and got to eat some yummy food. I even got a gift from Tiffany's from one of our suppliers. That is pretty nice! I was exhausted by the time I got home last night, and I am still pretty tired today. At least tomorrow is Friday!

We don't really have big weekend plans, but I saw today that the ECU baseball team is playing at home tomorrow night, so we are thinking about going to that. I also saw that the Farmer's Market is open now, so I want to go to that Saturday morning. Finally, we are going to try to tackle getting registered....I am overwhelmed just thinking about it!

Well, Baby Boy Caswell and I are officially 19 weeks now. He weighs roughly 8.5 ounces and is the size of a tomato! My belly is feeling bigger, but I still don't feel like I am obviously pregnant! I did get a few cute maternity clothes when I went shopping in NY! I have bought a couple of summer dresses that I can't wait to wear. It might be hot being preggo all summer, but I like the clothes I will get to wear!

That's all for now! Here is this week's size update picture!

Oh, and this is random, but Aggie was super snuggly with me last night...I could tell she missed her mama while I was gone!

It is mighty nice when you can combine business with pleasure. I have some meetings in NYC this week, and Jerry Jeff happened to be playing here this weekend, so who could have asked for better timing? Hubby and I flew up here Friday evening and got to spend some time together in the city before he went home today. We had a great time, even though the weekend flew by! Friday night, we arrived late and after checking into our hotel, we went to the restaurant next door to grab a late night snack since we didn't really have time for dinner with our flights. Saturday morning, we met one of Clay's best friends from growing up and his fiancee for breakfast before hitting Chinatown for some shopping. We enjoyed shopping a bit and made a purchase or two before lunch in Little Italy. I have to admit, I was quite jealous when Clay got to have Sangria! We had been to this restaurant before, so I know how good it is, too. (c: After that, we did a little more browsing around the streets of NYC before going to our hotel to get ready for JJW. Since we have a history of having great seats at this concert in the past, we couldn't have any different this time, and we got there plenty early to be #3 in line. We met some really fun people while waiting for the show. JJW was in a great mood and put on an AWESOME show! Django was there too, so it was fun to see him as well! I even stuck around and got to take a picture with him. Hubby left early this morning, and I got a nice massage before switching hotels and meeting up with my work friends. It was great to see them, since it has been since December! Well, here are a few pictures from the concert, and I will put more city pics up when I get back. For now, I must go to bed as I have a couple of long days ahead of me!

18 weeks

So, I have to admit that I skipped last week's "size update" because I didn't like the picture. The turnip was just a little too weird, so I left my ultrasound pictures up and skipped the turnip. This week, little Baby Boy Caswell (name still to be determined...) is the size of a bell pepper: he weighs almost 7 oz and is 5.5 inches long from head to bottom. Below is a picture of this week's size and a belly update. Oh, I can feel my belly when I try to lay on my stomach these days, but I still haven't felt the baby yet. I can't wait for that!

In other news, we have been LOVING the spring weather. We have cleaned up our garage quite a bit, and have spent the past few nights throwing darts on the board we got for Clay's graduation from Brad and Deanna. I'll have to take a picture of it because it is pretty cool! There are always tons of kids running around the neighborhood, too, and some of them even came over to play fetch with Aggie this weekend.

Well, my hubby is making venison burgers for dinner tonight, so I gotta go! YUM!

it's a BOY!!!!

Today I had my "big ulatrasound" where they do all sorts of measurements and make sure everything looks OK on the kiddo....and, if you want, this is when you can usually find out the sex of the peanut growing inside of you! I was a little nervous that is was going to be too early to tell or that the stinker wouldn't cooperate and give us a view, but our little baby boy had no fear in showing himself! The nurse was able to get a good shot almost right away, and there was no doubt. (Baby Jake played a trick on his parents during their ultrasound, so we were a little nervous about that!!) Beyond that, the doctor said everything looks perfect, which was great to hear!!

Here are the ultrasound pictures from today. The nurse commented about how big his little foot looks...that should be fun once he start kicking!

Here is Aggie telling everyone what she is getting in August!

PS Biggest Loser has taken on a new level of corniness...but, Mike is a nice kid!

Just a couple of pics...

Well, we did some cleaning up this weekend around the house, so I thought I would finally take some pictures, since it is feeling more like home these days. I also included the first belly pic because it was the first day I felt like I started looking like I actually have a belly. (I included one of the "no face" pictures because Clay was sitting on the couch looking up at me taking the pic, which is an awful angle on the face!!)

We hope you have had a great weekend!!
