Happy Blogiversary!

So, it has been one year since I started this. I cannot believe that! Seems like just yesterday. So many things have happened in the past year, and I am glad I have this blog to help me remember them! I didn't go back and re-read every post, but I did scroll through my history and take a little walk down memory lane. It has been a big year with the move and getting pregnant probably being the biggest two events. I enjoyed looking at the pictures from a lot of the other things we have done in the last year that I probably wouldn't have thought about if it had not been for my blog!

Since this is as much of a journal for me as it is to let others know what is going on in my life, I thought I would write a little more about what I feel during my pregnancy. (I hear you forget a lot about it once the little one comes along!) So, here it goes...I haven't really had many cravings, but I do eat peanut butter and drink ovaltine almost every day. I went through a phase where chicken (usually one of my favorite foods) grossed me out. I am better about eating that now, but I still don't like to handle it raw. I am still exercising at 34 weeks...running (if you can call it that...def more of a jog!) if I can go in the morning when it is cooler or walking if it is later in the day. I honestly feel the best when I am out running! My upper back gets sore from sitting at a desk all day. I miss sleeping on my back and belly, but the body pillow is great. It is harder to get up from the couch these days! I LOVE the feeling of Connor moving around and I am easily entertained watching my belly move. Aggie seems to know something is up - she is very attached to her mama these days, and two mornings this week, she could not get close enough to my belly! I am sure there are more, but that is all I can think of for now!

Here are some pictures from making dinner tonight...just so once August comes and I don't want to cook, I can remind Hubby that I used to! (c: Oh, and you can't really see it, but my shirt says "Waistlines are overrated" I thought it was cute, and it was on sale!

Here are a couple of pictures from the salsa Hubby made last week...it turned out really yummy!!

Hope you have a great week!! It is a short one for me - 3 days then a 4 day weekend!

Random Observation

So, maybe I am just slow and other people already know this, but when the date/time on your posting shows when you started your entry, not necessarily when you post this. I know this because I started my last blog last night before getting distracted by some high quality television and it shows that I posted it last night. There is probably a way I can change that, but I don't really care. If it ever actually matters, I'll look into it.

Off to help my hubby make salsa with tomatoes, peppers and onions from our garden!

We took the plunge...

Ever since we found out I was pregnant, Clay and I knew we would need to sell his two door car for something a little more family oriented. No, we did not take the plunge all the way to a mini-van, but we did buy our first car. Being that he has been so happy with his Honda, he was pretty sure that was what he wanted again. We did a little looking around other places, but ended up back at the Honda place. We test drove Honda's new hybrid and really like that and ended up getting one! It took a few days to get ours because we wanted a certain color, so they transferred it from a dealer in South Carolina. Clay wouldn't let me be a dork out in the driveway and take pictures, so I took a quick one when we were going out the other day:

In other news, I survived my mole removal last week. My hubby was sweet and went with me for moral support. I go Thursday to get my stitches out, which I am a little nervous about (no numbing!), but I'll be brave and go myself.

Also, this weekend, some of Clay's co-workers threw us a Baby BBQ. It was a nice afternoon filled with lots of yummy food, drinks (no margaritas for me, though!), friends and fun. I think we all had a great time.

Well, I need a snack before going to Clay's softball game tonight. He joined the league with a church in town that we have been visiting, but they struggle in the scoring run and stopping the other team from scoring departments. They have been run ruled once or twice. Have a great Tuesday night!!

100!

I just noticed that this is my 100th post! I feel like I should do something special, but don't really know what, so I'll just write about our super exciting weekend (said extreme sarcasm).

This weekend has been nice. Friday night, Hubby and I went to see The Hangover. It was pretty funny, and the crowd really got into it. (I have to admit, I really enjoyed it, but I was a little shocked when people started cheering when it was over...!) We also enjoyed a yummy dinner that night made with fresh peppers and onions from our garden!

Saturday we slept in quite a bit and did some stuff around here. I even took a nap for the first time in a while, and I loved it! Guess I should try to take advantage of doing that now since sleep will be harder to come by come August! Last night we made some meatloaf and a casserole to have in the freezer for dinners after Connor comes. We are trying to be prepared so we don't order pizza or have sandwiches every night!

Well, here is a new belly picture from after church this morning and some pictures of Connor's room now that it is pretty much ready for the little guy!

Two months from today....

is my due date!! YIKES!

We are having an awesome lightening storm off in the horizon. It is really cool because the sky above us is clear and the stars are great. Then off the of south/southeast of us (yes, I had to ask my hubby) the clouds are beautiful with the lightening. So, we decided to take my camera out into the country and try to get some pictures. I took quite a few...some were good, and some not so good. (Daren, that is why I called you tonight - I was going to see if you had any advice before I went out!) Anyway, here are a couple of my favorites:

The last one is my favorite. I like how you can see both the stars and the storm! Now I want to learn what to do to take really good shots! But for now, it's off to bed!

Baby Ducks and Watermelons!

Random title, I know. Oh well...

The other morning, Clay called to tell me that there were some baby ducks at the pond right by where he parks for work. He told me how little and cute they were, so tonight he took me to see them! I, of course, took my camera. He was right...they are pretty darn cute! See for yourself...

Oh, and before we left the parking lot, like the dork that I am, I nicely asked my hubby to take my picture next to the "bump" sign...

Now for the watermelons part. I noticed this weekend that we had a teeny watermelon in our garden! By the time I got around taking a picture, it had just about doubled in size. While I was taking a picture, I noticed another little one starting to grow. Here are a couple of pictures I managed to take. I put the quarter there for reference!

It's been a while...

First of all, I apologize for neglecting my blog so much lately. I won't try to make up excuses! (c:

So...where to begin? My hubby has been in Colorado since Tuesday, and I cannot wait for him to come home tonight. I am keeping my fingers crossed that his flights are all on time, as there are some storms in Denver. Thankfully my parents came up for a few days during the week to keep me company after work each night, and we did some stuff to organize the nursery as well as a little shopping. SInce they left yesterday morning, I did stuff around the house and finally unpacked the last couple of boxes I still had in our room/closet. Yes, we have lived in this house about 6 months, and my closet still wasn't unpacked. In my defense, though, I don't wear work clothes too often anymore, and most of my stuff doesn't fit these days anyway!

Last weekend before Clay left, we decided to take an afternoon drive through the country. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we wanted to do a little exploring around our area. It is totally different than Morgantown - we have flat (and typically straight) roads here! Anyway, I took a couple of pictures from our drive...

(That picture totally goes against my "typically straight" comment!)

If you remember this post, back in November, I had a mole come back positive for melanoma. When we moved here, I knew I wanted to get established with a dermatologist quickly. I am glad I did, because he recommends check ups every 3 months for the first year after melanoma. Well, in the past couple of weeks, I had noticed one mole that had changed. I knew I had an appointment coming up, so I wasn't too worried about it. Plus, I had read that pregnancy can lead to moles changing. Well, the doctor agreed that it looked different, so they took a sample. It came back that it is not melanoma (YEAH!!!!), but it was determined to be "atypical". So, of course, they want me to come back and have the rest of it removed. I am definitely a better safe than sorry type person, so I have an appointment next week to get it taken care of. But, I am still debating whether to get it taken care of now or after Connor is born. Unless my Doctor has some reason to suggest I wait, though, I think it would be better to go ahead and get it over with!

I'll post some finished nursery pictures in the next couple of days. I am going to wait for Clay to get back to hang up Connor's name first. Well, I am off to check out the garden and maybe take Aggie on a walk before dinner! Have a great Sunday evening!
