Big yawn...

This picture pretty much sums out how I felt this morning after the little man and I had a long night hanging out together:

Good thing he is so cute! (c:

Cankle Update

If you remember this post, I mentioned that I officially had cankles. This was at the beginning of August, a full three weeks before Connor arrived. That was three weeks of more swelling. It wasn't a priority at the time, but I am kinda wishing I had gotten a picture of my feet the night he was delivered because they were HUGE!! Anyway, thought it would be entertaining to put a few before and after pictures of my feet:

One week

One week ago (yesterday), we checked into the hospital. That day, I checked in as a wife, daughter, sister, friend...two days later, I checked out as a Mama. This little man has changed my life in so many wonderful ways. I never knew how something as little as a pair of eyes widening when they see you could melt your heart. I love his little noises, his little fingers and toes, and his perfect little lips. The 24 hours of labor are a bit of a blur now, but all I know is that each minute was worth it for Connor. Happy one week, little buddy. Your Mama loves you!

A few pictures...

Here are a couple of pictures from Connor's birthday and hospital stay! He has been such a great little guy....We are truly blessed!! Right now, he is snoozing away, which is what he has done a lot of since we brought him home. I think I could sit and stare at him for hours. Love, love, love him!

Our little guy is here! After 24 hours of labor (close to 3.5 of those pushing!!), we welcomed our 8 lb 15 oz, 21 inch little guy into the world at 10:39 pm last night. He is absolutely precious, if I might say so myself. (c: I'll post some pictures later when I am a little more awake! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers that have been sent our way!!

Weekend Purchases

I was going to take some pictures of my weekend purchases, but that would require getting off the couch, getting my camera out of my hospital bag and transferring the pictures to my computer, so I will just talk about them instead. Clay and I went to Food Lion (don't judge - it's not as bad as the ones in Texas) to get just a handful of items on Saturday morning. We got a little distracted by the sidewalk sale going on at the consignment store next door. Since you never know what treasures you might find at those places, we walked through. As we were leaving, Clay spotted some really nice margarita glasses. They are that thick glass with the pretty blue rim and the base is the same color blue. Best part is that they were only $10 for all 4!! I have seen some for similar glasses at Pier 1 for about that much each! The other purchase was one I couldn't resist thanks to my current preggo state. We went to a store that has lots of personalized gifts, etc. Just inside the door, they had some very cute wine glasses. The first one I picked up said "Mommy's sippy cup" on one side and "When baby whines, I'll wine" on the other side. (I just realized I sound like a lush...haha!) Anyway, I thought it was too cute to pass up.

In other news, we are approaching 41 weeks very quickly. Tomorrow is 6 days late, but there is an end date in site: if nothing happens between now and then, we will induce on Friday. So, now I wonder if Connor will come on his own or wait for induction. All I know is that we will have a baby THIS WEEK!! Yipee!!!!

A non-update

My mom was giving me a hard time tonight because I had not posted anything lately. Well, that is because there really isn't anything to post. My due date has come and gone with nothing to show for it. I went to the doctor today, and didn't get much of an update there either. Unless Mr. Connor decides to come on his own, we will induce next Friday. Yes, NEXT friday, or 9 days after my due date! Come on, Connor!! I know I said last weekend I was hoping for a weekend baby...maybe I wasn't specific enough on WHICH weekend! This weekend would be nice!

Tonight, we made BBQ Brisket pizza...sounds kinda weird, but it was very yummy. We just got one of those pre-made pizza crusts and used BBQ sauce, chopped brisket and cheese. Sadly, I don't have much room in my tummy to eat these days, so I had a small meal.

Well, hooray for tomorrow being FRIDAY!! Hope you have had a good week! Oh, and here is a picture from Tuesday night...or my due date eve.

no news...

Well, still pregnant! I was hoping for a weekend baby, but so far, it doesn't look like that will happen! My next dr. appt is not until Thursday this week. Last week it was on Monday, but they couldn't get me in until Thursday this time. I personally felt I should have priority over anyone else, but that is probably just the preggo in me thinking! (c:

We had a nice little block party yesterday in our neighborhood. It was pretty hot...they started it at 3, which didn't help with the heat factor. But, I had fun anyway! We snacked on some great food and got to meet some more neighbors. Everyone was really friendly, and there are TONS of kiddos around.

Back to patiently waiting for our little one...have a great Sunday afternoon!

That's all I gotta say about that....

Here is a belly picture from Friday night (~38.5 weeks).  One of these days these not so flattering belly pics will be replaced by cute baby pictures...YEAH!!!!!

So, I officially have cankles. Now, depending on how well you know me, this may not be a surprise, and you better not tell me that I have always had cankles! I have been known to have larger than typical ankles (I won't get into my "fat ankles" story now...maybe another time!) Anyway, we went to the farmer's market this morning, and when we got home, I looked down and realized how bad they are! Haha...if that is all I can complain about, I consider myself pretty lucky!

I haven't had too many random people rub my belly or anything like that. I have heard stories of random strangers walking up to women and doing that, but that has never happened to me. Last night, though, we were at a going away party for a friend, and there were some undergrads there that are studying here for a year from the UK. Well, when we were leaving, they were shy about it but I could tell they really wanted to touch my belly. I told them they could (I really don't care!) and it was absolutely hilarious. They were sad that he wasn't kicking, but one of them even bent down and started saying "HELLLOOOOOO" to Connor!! I just stood there laughing!

Well, it is officially Connor's birth month....HAPPY AUGUST!!
