First flight!

Connor was a rock star on all three flights today! I could not have been happier. I am exhausted, though, so just gonna post a pic of us and the sleeping little man on one of the flights today!

Happy Halloween!!

Before I leave town without my computer (gasp!!), just a Happy Halloween to all...

Isn't he just a cutie?!?! (c: Ok - off to bed, even though I will be up every hour nervous that we will oversleep!

I hate packing!

I have never been a fan of packing, and that was when I just had to figure out what I would need. Add in a 10 week old, and it just adds a layer of trickiness. How many diapers do we need for traveling from Greenville to Lubbock tomorrow? How many extra outfits for Connor, and what about an extra top for me (just in case!)? How many burpies? Oh, and did I mention we will be in airports or on planes for over eight hours? Yikes. I am overwhelmed just thinking about it. But, I know he will do great. In fact he has been a rockstar napper this afternoon allowing me plenty of time to pack. Too bad I had my suitcase all packed and realized I hadn't put in one of the largest items yet. Oops. Here's to repacking!

So, be thinking about us tomorrow, and pray for good weather and minimal (or no!) delays.

Well, I guess that is enough procrastinating and I should get back to it! Hooray for TEXAS tomorrow!!

Aggie and her brother

Aggie is warming up to her brother these days. At first, she kinda just ignored him, but lately she lays by him more and gives him kisses...he doesn't seem to mind! One of these days they will be best friends!

2 month pics

These are a few days late, but here are Connor's 2 month pictures. I took some both before he got dressed (in his jammies) and some after he got dressed for the day!!

A couple of other things...the sleeper he is in it definitely 3-6 months and fits him just right at 2 months. Also, Clay told me that
I misheard the pedi, and Connor is in the 86th percentile for height, not 82nd. Not a big difference, but does put him closer to his weight percentile! Either way, he is still a big boy!

One wing challenge

The wing shop near us has an "Insanity Wing: One Wing Challenge" Recently, one of our friends tried and completed it. Basically, you have to eat a really hot wing, and you get your picture on the wall. Easy enough, right? Well, according to this friend, it is awful. He said it is pretty hot, but also just plain tastes bad. I won't go into the "day after" affects he said it had, too! Well, for some reason, Clay was inspired to also take the challenge.

That brings us to Friday. Clay and some of his lab mates headed to the wing shop for lunch. Connor and I went over to meet them, too. Before you begin, you have to sign a waiver that they are not responsible for any internal or external burns you receive from the wing. (Seriously?!?) I have to say my Hubby completed the challenge, and did so like a champ! He did say it tasted awful...

Two month letter

Dear Connor,

Today you are two months old. Yesterday, we went to the doctor for your well check up and shots. Let me start with how well you did waiting!! Even though we sat in the waiting room for over an hour, you did not fuss once! Thanks, Buddy. You weighed in at a whopping 14 lbs and 5 oz and are 24 inches long! You are a big the 86% for length and 92% for weight. Guess your Mama is feeding you well, huh? You got 4 vaccines yesterday, three of them being shots. You did very well with your Daddy holding you so Mama didn't have to watch! You didn't really have any reaction to the vaccines, but you have been a very sleepy boy today.

You have changed so much in the last month. You are starting to show your personality. You smile so much for Mommy and Daddy now, and it melts my heart every time I see your gummy grin! We occasionally even get a bit of a laugh, which I love. You are also "talking" a lot more these days. You love your changing table, and I sometimes put you on there just to settle you down if you are fussy. You are also mesmerized by the mobile in your crib. You will lay there and stare at it for a long time (I just wish it played longer so I don't have to keep rewinding it!) We moved you out of our room and into your own room for bedtime and most of your naps. You sleep like a champ in there. As far as sleep, you generally take one or two short naps in the morning, and one long (3-3.5 hours!) nap in the afternoon. You have also been doing great sleeping through the night, although I am a little nervous about tonight since you have snoozed most of the day today! We were also finally brave enough to take you to church last week. Once again, you made me so proud - you didn't make a peep! Hopefully we can keep that up!

We love you more than you can imagine, and we can't wait to see what you learn next. You are growing up so fast, but we are cherishing each and every minute we have with you!

The Aggies: the good and the bad

Ok, let's start with the bad. Football. Enough said and moving on.

Now for the good! Yesterday, we went to an Aggie BBQ up in Raleigh yesterday. First of all, let me admit that we need to take better advantage of Raleigh. The first time we flew in and out of there, it seemed so far from Greenville. But, driving up there this weekend, it was not that bad. It is a pretty straight shot, and no worse than driving to Pittsburgh from Morgantown. Anyway, that is not the point. The couple that hosted the BBQ at their house live on the Neuse River. We pulled up, and there were cars everywhere!! Once we got parked and unloaded, we walked up to this beautiful house! Everyone was around back, and I was so excited to see how many Aggies were there! The Pittsburgh group was decent sized, but nothing compared to this one. It smelled amazing with the smoker going full force. We met some people before dinner was served, then ate dinner with a nice little group. The brisket was very good! At first when he filled up my plate, I thought "Wow, that is a lot of brisket", but I will be the first to admit that I ate every bite of it! They had 6 leftover briskets (yikes!) that they were selling for $10 a half. We went back and forth on getting one, and ended up deciding against it. This was probably a wise decision, but the next day I was regretting not getting one! (c:

Well, I want to get this wrapped up before the little man is up for the day, so I'll close with a pic of him getting ready for his first Aggie BBQ!

This is just a random one from yesterday...

So, my sweet hubby and son got me a video camera for my birthday! It is a Canon camera, and I have had a lot of fun playing with it and learning about it. Now my mom can have her Flip video camera back! It was nice to borrow, but I am excited about my camera! One thing I have been looking into is a place to easily upload and share my videos from. There is something about me that wants to avoid using youtube. (For some reason, I have trouble uploading directly to blogger!) Anyway, I am trying out vimeo for a little while to see how it works out!

If anyone has suggestions for a video sharing service they like, let me know!

take two....

OK - I have been struggling to get videos uploaded to blogger, but this one finally worked, so I am erasing the youtube version. I am still trying to figure out the best way to upload and share videos online, so if anyone has any recommendations, let me know!

smiles on video!

I have one of those nifty little flip video cameras, which is really cool, but I have not been able to upload video from it to blogger. Anyway, I had my little point and shoot camera in the car the other day while we were waiting for Clay, and I got a couple of good smiles on it! Enjoy...

PS I hate my voice on video!

Catching up...

I have started a couple of posts lately, only to get interrupted, so here is my attempt to catch up!

First of all, Happy Birthday yesterday to my hubby. I think he had a nice birthday. We met up with some friends at a restaurant/tavern yesterday afternoon and took the little man with us. He did WONDERFUL!!! I was so proud of him. He did get pretty fussy at the end, but we had been there a long time, so I don't blame him. He was just tired. We did have to make a couple trips to the parking lot for diaper changes since the bathroom didn't have one!

After his big outing last night, Connor gave Clay and I a nice little birthday present by sleeping from about 10:30 to a few minutes before 7!!! Speaking of sleeping, we put Connor in his room to sleep starting Thursday night. He has done well both nights in there. He had been in our room in his pack-n-play since we brought him home. I think it was a harder transition on mama than Connor...I guess I am just being sentimental or something like that! One thing that I don't like is that it takes me longer to get to him when he wakes up, which makes him a little unhappy. I was able to get him before he really started crying in our room, but that doesn't work as well having to rely on the monitor and going across the house to get him.

Connor's previously elusive smile is not as elusive these days. He is smiling on a more regular basis these days. He is particularly smiley after waking up or eating and he loves being on his changing table. Here is a little montage of some of the smiles we caught on camera in the last week or so.

My parents spent a few days up here this week. Connor enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa! It was nice having a couple of extra pairs of hands around during the day, and Connor was on his best behavior for their visit. Let's hope he does the same for our trip to Texas coming up!! He is looking forward to seeing Mama Deb and Pop as well as meeting many other family members and friends!!

Well, we plan on enjoying our Saturday relaxing and maybe watching a little football! Have a great weekend!

I was really excited that we actually got to watch an Aggie game on TV last night. Unfortunately, the game did not end up like I would have hoped, but the little man sure did look cute all dressed up for game day:

Better luck next time, Ags!
