Our new normal

This week, we kicked off a new season in our lives.  Connor started kindergarten and Abby started daycare.  I thought I was going to be a mess, but I actually did pretty good when they left!  {Pats self on back}  Tuesday afternoon did DRAG by as I waited for the time to go get my kiddos!  All three got great reports! (Levi has 2 out of 3 new teachers that day, so kinda new for him, too!)  Connor seems to love school.  He adjusted flawlessly, and I couldn't be happier.

We settled into our new routine nicely as the week went on.  Clay takes the kids in the morning, and I pick up as we have always done.  It works out nicely that Connor got transferred to one of the other schools in our district where we can continue to utilize our day care before and after school.  I think that has helped make the transition easier on all of us!

Last night going to bed as a pre-schooler!

 First day selfie with mom.

Getting ready to buckle her in to go to school with her brothers!

We went swimming on Wednesday!  (I should have cropped my toes out...ha!)

Picnic dinner after swimming.

Being a social butterfly at school is exhausting!  Couldn't make it through our dinner!

Passing out early again...this time at a birthday party!

We were playing in the front yard.  Connor didn't know Clay was watching them while I ran inside, and I came back out to this.  He's such a good big brother!

Meanwhile, in the van (with all the doors open...don't worry) Levi was doing this!

I wish my thighs looked that cute!

Loving her new perspective on the world!

Happy, happy girl!

Who also happens to drool.  A lot.

Connor's 5th Birthday!!

Connor doesn't actually turn 5 for a couple of weeks, but we had his party early so we could do it before the hustle and bustle of school starts.  We have always had his parties at our house, and it has alway worked out nicely.  The past two years, we have had bounce houses, which the kids have loved.  Connor picked one out this year and we were set...until I started looking at the forecast 10 days out.  Rain.  I kept telling myself that it was still far out and surely that would dwindle.  Not so much.  At one point we were up to 80% chance of rain on the day of his party!  It started raining Friday night and did not stop.  Slow and steady.  I was starting to get really nervous!  What would we do with 20+ kids in the house?  As we got closer, though, the chance of rain for 4 pm dropped.  I talked to the rental company for the bounce house to see if we could still use it if it's wet, but he told me no because it wasn't worth it for him for all the extra work to clean and dry it.  Bummer!!  Connor was sad, but got over it pretty quick.  Sometime in the 3 o'clock hour, the rain stopped and held off for the party.  It was a little wet, but didn't stop those kids from having fun!  Connor loved his Darth Vader cake.  I usually do a cake and invites to a theme, but that's the extent of the decorating I do!  I didn't take a single pic yesterday, so these pics are all courtesy of my dad!!

{Abby's three month post is below!}

Friday was Connor's last day in the Indigo Room at his current school (daycare).  The end of an era!  When we started here a year and a half ago, I was very worried.  Connor did not handle change very well.  But, this school was different from day 1.  They know what they are doing.  We got to go visit his new classroom before he even started, and I loved his teachers and I was so impressed with the classroom he was going to be in.  And let me tell you, he did AWESOME there.  He has blossomed into a smart, confident kid.

Friday was also an orientation type day at his new school.  We got to go see his classroom and meet his new teacher.  Oh my gosh.  What an answer to prayers!  I absolutely love Connor's new school, classroom, and teacher!  He'll get to do the before/after school care with most of his friends from school now, which is an added bonus.  I get a lump in my throat thinking about sending my baby off to school,  but he's so stinkin' excited!

First day in Indigo...

Last day in indigo!
